The European Commission adopted Joint Operational Programme Romania-Ukraine-Republic of Moldova

The European Commission adopted new Joint Operational Programme Romania-Ukraine-Republic of Moldova 2007-2013 by the Decision no 3806 of July 29th, 2008. This is the first and only adopted cross-border cooperation programme, implemented according to the European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI).

The Joint Operational Programme has a total budget of 137,4 millions EUR, out of which EU and national contributions amounts accordingly to 126 and 11,4 millions of EUR. The funds will be allocated to each priority according to the rules and procedures of the programme following Open Calls for Proposals.

Projects in social and economic, transport, ecological, energy, cultural and other sectors will be financed in order to promote spatial development of the border regions of Romanian and Ukraine and the whole territory of Republic of Moldova.

Local and regional authorities, non-governmental organizations, non-profit organizations, professional associations, educational institutions and other eligible organizations from the listed below regions could apply for the grant:

  • In Romania, the counties of Suceava, Botosani, Iasi, Vaslui , Galati, and Tulcea;
  • In Ukraine, the oblasts of Odesska, and Chernivetska;
  • In the Republic of Moldova, the whole country.
