The international conference “Neighbourhood Programme Romania – Ukraine: the catalyst of cooperation between the two countries” will take place in Odessa on the 4-5 June 2009

 
 
One of the initiatives to promote cooperation along the EU-Ukraine during the 2004-2006 period has been the Neighbourhood Programme Romania – Ukraine, which on Ukrainian side covers Chernivetska, Ivano-Frankivska, Odeska and Zakarpatska oblasts. The Programme priorities include: promoting local socio-economic development, developing cross border integrated infrastructure systems, supporting people to people actions etc.

On the 12 April 2007 the Country Contact Point for the Neighbourhood Programmes Romania – Ukraine and CADSES started its operation in Odessa, Ukraine and it has been instrumental to the efficient implementation of the above Programmes in the country.

In the framework of the Romania – Ukraine Neighbourhood Programme 2 Calls for proposals were carried out. As a result 10 projects received financial support and are currently being implemented in all the programme regions and covering all the programme priorities.

In order to present as widely as possible the results of the Programme’s implementation, to summarize the experience of the partners and in view of ceasing its activities in June 2009 the Odessa Country Contact Point will organise an international conference “Neighbourhood Programme Romania – Ukraine: the catalyst of cooperation between the two countries”, which will take place on the 4-5 June 2009 in Odessa, Ukraine.
